Youngsters Artistic Efforts Impress Judges in Heart of England Co-operative Society’s Christmas Card Competition
Schools from throughout the region submitted entries with the winning design coming from eight year old Ibrahim Mirza from Milverton House School in Nuneaton with a charming snowman scene.
Ibrahim beat off strong competition from the hundreds of entries received from school children between the ages of 8 – 11 from schools throughout Coventry, Warwickshire and south Leicestershire unveiling a plethora of artistic talent.
The entries showed that children were getting into the festive spirit early with the usual traditional images of Santa Claus, reindeers, robins, snowmen but also of family and Christmas both at home and around the world.
In terms of design, the children had a free rein with the only requirement to incorporate the Heart of England Co-operative Society logo within their illustration.
It is the seventeenth year in which the Heart of England Co-operative Society has held this exciting competition and the standard of entries once again did not disappoint.
The designs were imaginative and creative making judging a difficult task.
The judging panel drawn from local business leaders and media across the region.
The entries had to be produced in school; one card per child and the design had to be suitable so that it could be reproduced in a printed form for use by the Society.
