HEART OF ENGLAND CO-OPERATIVE CONCERT ORCHESTRA TO FEATURE FAVOURITES IN OCTOBER CONCERT

An annual fixture on the 101-year-old orchestra’s calendar, the October concert will feature a variety of music by English composers as well as composers of other nationalities.
Elgar’s Nimrod from the Enigma Variations, as well as his famous Chanson de Matin, Butterworth’s The Banks of Green Willow, Tomlinson’s Little Serenade and traditional folk song The Lincolnshire Poacher are amongthe British pieces to feature in the concert. The orchestra will also perform the well-known British Sea Songs Fantasy by Henry Wood, always played at the last night of the Proms.
International pieces will include Kurt Weill’s Mack the Knife, Thunder and Lightning Polka by Strauss and Copland’s Quiet City.
The event will take place at the Methodist Central Hall in Warwick Lane, Coventry, on Wednesday October 10th at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £8 for adults with concessions at £6.
Children are £1.
All proceeds from the event will go to Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice, the chosen charity for the Heart of England Co-operative Society, sponsors of the orchestra.
