Charities urged to apply for a £10,000 boost from The Heart of England Co-operative Society

CHARITIES URGED TO APPLY FOR A £10,000 BOOST FROM THE HEART OF ENGALND CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY

Thursday, July 12, 2018

Charities across Coventry, Warwickshire, south Leicestershire and Northamptonshire are being urged to put their names forward for a £10,000 boost from the Heart of England Co-operative Society.

To celebrate its fantastic £1 million milestone, the Society has set aside £10,000 of Helping Hearts funds for a one off donation for a local organisation which works to improve the lives or quality of life for residents in the local community.

Customers and members of the Society, and anyone who lives within its trading area of Coventry, Warwickshire, south Leicestershire and Northamptonshire are also urged to nominate the cause they feel is most deserving of the £10,000.

Whether to pay for a new service or facility, complete a specific project or renovation, or to buy new equipment, nominations must be for registered charities, voluntary organisations or non-profit organisations within the trading area.

All nominations will be considered by the Society and a final winner will be announced in August

Ali Kurji, Chief Executive of the Heart of England Co-operative Society, said: “The more applications we have received over the past 18 years, the more we have learned just how many unsung heroes there are in this area who work so selflessly every day to help people in their community.

“The £1 million milestone, which coincides with the 18th anniversary since the launch of Helping Hearts, gives us the perfect excuse for us to share a little extra this year.

“Ideally we are looking for applications to support, in the region of £10,000, so we can fund a project or facility in its entirety.

“£10,000 can make a huge difference to a charity or non-profit organisation so we would urge everyone to get their thinking caps and to come to us with ideas.”

To enter your nomination or to apply contact Jo Dyke, Community and Membership Adviser, on [email protected] or call Jo on 024 7638 2331.

All entries must be received before Friday, August 3rd 2018.
